Hoppy Easter!

Hoppy Easter!! Happy Spring to my fellow creatives!

Here's hoping everyone finds a way to grow and bloom wherever they're planted.

My Gardening Bunny illustration: ink, colored inks and a bit of digital. Art created with the art challenges/prompts in mind for both #cbigArtShare - Gardening and #colour_collective - Mallow & Mint.

#cbigArtShare: monthly prompt  - post on Twitter/Instagram on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. May's prompt is #mermay. See @cbigNYC

#colour_collective: weekly color prompt - post every friday at 2:30pm on Twitter. Colors are posted on Saturday for the following Friday. Color pair forApril 22 is Seashell & French Sky Blue. I find the weekly challenges a bit, well, challenging, especially now that they're doing color pairs! See @CLR_Collective

Happy 1st Day of Spring!

Purple Crocus © Diana Ting Delosh - Ink Brush, watercolor
Ah-h-h-h Spring. The trees are budding. Crocuses are blooming. The birds are singing and there's even been a bunny sighting in my backyard. What's not to love?

Not sure why they made January 1st, mid winter, the beginning of the New Year. It seems so arbitrary. I think someone was bored and wanted an excuse for a party. The Vernal equinox seems a much more appropriate day for beginnings of any kind.

The first signs of spring always puts me in an optimistic mood. Makes me want to start new things or restart old projects, create and submit because all things feel possible.

Cheers to Spring and all your hopes and endeavors!

Hoppy Easter

© Diana Ting Delosh
This ink & watercolor illo was originally created for the Year of the Hare but I think this white hare holding a magnolia branch as a staff can double as a Easter rabbit.
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and  much spring hoppiness.

Now Showing at the HBF Library!

Clip from the Harborfields Public Library March 2010 newsletter.

13 of my Spring themed illustrations are now hanging in the children's room gallery at the Harborfields Public Library. They will be on exhibit from March 5 - April 30th - so if you're in the Greenlawn, NY area drop in and take a peek.

Just installed this morning and I must say they look pretty good - hanging up in their white mats and thin black frames. We started installing at 9:30 am and finished before things got too busy at the library. I'm glad I decided to show the originals as nowadays - most people just see the printed or the online versions.

IF: WRINKLES

Tortoise © Diana Ting Delosh

Wrinkles look good on tortoises. I don't like them on me - unless of course I could turn into a tortoise or walrus - nor do I like them when they turn up in my plans.

This is a style I am experimenting with. It's still ink line and watercolor but it's a fatter, simpler, looser line with lot's of washy color. A bit of a vacation from my usual more detailed style. Please let me know what you think.
